Prior to her pivot to the nonprofit sector, Alena had more than 20 years’ experience as a corporate executive at such leading companies as Bank of America, Bridges Health Services and a range of startups. As Senior Executive at Bridges she led covid crisis response teams for mobile applications and services, delivering 20x growth in annual revenues in just one year.

As an entrepreneur, Alena disrupts the industries she ventures into with innovation and technology. In the venture with Integrity Recovery Connected, the companies are uniting together to disrupt the addiction, recovery and mental health industry with cutting edge technology solutions.

Alena, resides in beautiful southern California with her family, “PuraVida Gang” and they enjoy traveling, experiencing new cultures and adventure. Alena supports many Special Needs Children’s Organizations, America’s Toothfairy, Miss Amazing, and Suzan G Komen.

Ms.Griggs's passion for the community was rooted in family and church. Her family has held service positions in the community, including housing, education, and the first Black-owned insurance company.  As a young adult, Ms. Griggs found her way to Holman United Methodist Church, and unknown to her, her grandparents and great-grandmother were among several founders of that church. There, she was pastored by Rev. Dr. James M. Lawson, who in his youth had been a student of Mahatma Gandhi and introduced the Non-Violent movement to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King upon his return to the States.  In recent years. Ms. Griggs attended Rev. Lawson’s monthly workshops on non-violence.

Ms.Griggs has consulted for Child Protective Service agencies, the LA County Department of Mental Health and Probation, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and numerous human service agencies nationwide.  In addition to adjunct teaching positions at Howard University, School of Social Work, Yo San University (Acupuncture), UCLA Luskin School of Social Work, and Antioch University Master of Psychology Program, she has guest lectured at the Department of Social Work at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa, by invitation from Dr. Marcel Londt, former Head of the Department and currently on faculty. 

Ms.Griggs's influence extends beyond her clinical practice, teaching, and training. She is a dedicated mentor to many social workers and clinical practitioners, guiding them to cultivate their cultural selves in practice. Her focus on mentorship underscores her commitment to the future of the profession. 

Ms.Griggs firmly believes in the power of community partnerships to effect positive change. As the President of the Los Angeles chapter of the Association of Black Social Workers, she actively seeks to partner with many community resources to improve black lives, with the organization’s origin in Watts. Her belief in the strength of the Black community and the potential of partnerships is inspiring.

Most recently, Ms.Griggs engaged in a creative process as an Executive Producer and Interviewer for a short documentary titled “Treasured Voices Speak:  The Founding of the National Association of Black Social Workers.” Ms.Griggs is a long-time tai qi practitioner, enjoys UCLA football tailgating, and is an avid Dodger fan.

As the National Association of Social Workers-New York- Suffolk County Division Director, Dawn is passionate about building and cultivating community with seasoned social workers, emerging leaders, and students; professional development for social workers in all areas of practice; co-creating and supporting the chapter’s policy agenda; and advancing social work entrepreneurship.

Dawn is a former lecturer at the Columbia University School of Social Work where she was an inaugural recipient of the Steven P. Schinke Teaching Innovation Award. She has also taught social work and human services at Adelphi University, Fordham University, and St. Joseph’s University (NY). She is a doctoral candidate studying Adult Learning and Leadership at Teachers College- Columbia University.

To nurture her own well-being, Dawn loves spending time near the ocean, knitting, traveling, watching true crime TV with her two Yorkies, and sharing her stories of caregiving so her peers know they are not alone.

Denise's motto is "Wealth is Health," aiming to heal hearts and minds to bridge connections between Africans in America and Africans in the Diaspora.

Denise holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Spelman College and a Master’s degree in Clinical/Community Psychology from Antioch University. 

Cheryl has also contributed significantly as the Director of Clinical Operations at Eggleston Youth Centers, where she supervised outpatient and short-term residential treatment programs. Her experience extends to various contracted services, including roles as Clinical Coordinator and Supervisor in multiple mental health organizations, where she provided clinical supervision, training, and support for therapists and interns.

Her leadership experience includes a pivotal role as Director of the Western Region for the Child Welfare League of America, where she liaised with member agencies and advocated for child welfare policies. Cheryl has also served as Field Education Faculty at UCLA, coordinating field placements for MSW students and contributing to curriculum development.

Cheryl's educational background includes a Master of Social Work (MSW) from UCLA, where she concentrated on community organizing, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the same institution. She is a licensed clinical social worker in California and is actively involved in several professional organizations, including serving as an advisory board member for the Special Needs Network and holding leadership roles in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Cheryl's extensive experience, coupled with her dedication to improving outcomes for children and families, positions her as a leader in the field of social work and mental health services.

Ms. Dean has a fond interest working with couples experiencing developmental and disruptive marital challenges and children experiencing grief, loss, abuse, and other challenges. Additionally, her trauma informed cognitive behavioral approach incorporates not only the current triggering event(s), but also the familial, cultural, and historical elements that can contribute layers of complexity and multigenerational components to the current concern. This approach is also used in non-directed play therapy she incorporates with children.

Ms. Tisdale currently manages a team of professionals as a part of a non-profit organization dedicated to providing behavior analytic treatment to increase social competence of those with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors of all ages. 

Her 20 year career also includes an emphasis of generalized behavioral engineering skills, providing consultation both nationally and internationally with various educational professionals, medical healthcare professionals, and caregivers increasing competency and knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and improving of social skills in children and adults. The continuing mission is to employ evidenced based practices, utilizing various technological resources to increase the quality of life of the population of individuals served.

Felicia's exceptional contributions to her community have been recognized and honored by various organizations. She has received Certificates of Recognition from the City of La Palma and the California Legislature Assembly for her philanthropic work. The City of Compton has also acknowledged her with the Service Award, and she has received acknowledgments from Los Angeles County.

In terms of education, Felicia holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Fullerton, providing her with a solid foundation in understanding human behavior and mental processes. She further enhanced her expertise by obtaining a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, equipping her with the skills necessary to support individuals and families struggling with addiction.

Recognizing the importance of addressing underlying issues that contribute to addiction, Felicia has obtained certifications in teaching Anger Management, Domestic Violence, and as a Life Coach. These certifications enable her to address the complex dynamics surrounding addiction and provide comprehensive support to those in need.

Lawrence is the author of "Living in Green Pastures with Life Stories," a published Christian inspiration/motivational book. He is also the co-publisher of "Treatment Effectiveness in Adult Partial Hospitalization." In addition to his leadership roles and writing, Lawrence has a diverse background. He was a past Collegiate Football Bowl champion, a bodybuilding champion nationally and internationally, and currently holds over 27 bodybuilding titles. He has conducted numerous workshops on wellness and fitness. Lawrence has also worked as a consulting therapist for the National Basketball Association and served on the board of advisors for The Shoulder, Inc., Harris County MHMRA. He has been recognized as one of the past Outstanding Young Men in America.

Moreover, Lawrence's specialties in therapy include stress, anxiety, addictions, trauma and abuse, grief, self-esteem, and therapy for athletes. He is also experienced in dealing with relationship issues, family conflicts, intimacy-related issues, eating disorders, parenting issues, anger management, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, depression, coping with life changes, and coaching.

Cheryl's experience extends beyond her role on the Board of Pharmacy. Since 2002, she has been a pharmacist, vice president, and union representative at the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, Local 770. Prior to that, she served as a head pharmacist for Rite Aid Pharmacy from 1980 to 2002. Her unwavering dedication to her profession and her commitment to supporting others have made her an invaluable asset to the pharmaceutical community.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Cheryl actively participates in various organizations, including the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union Professional Pharmacist Division Executive Board, the California Pharmacists Association, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
